It's Friday again! This weekend finds me out in the country, taking care of a friend's animals. It makes me happy to spend a week in seclusion. I get to go for walks in the woods & meadow, enjoy a warm fire in the wood stove, watch the birds migrate. And Wednesday was the great ladybug migration out there! One day each year, the lady bugs swarm. It's an amazing sight.
There were only a few ladybugs left when I got out to the country, but still more than usual and fun to see.
Things have been very slow in the job hunting department. But, at least today I was granted an interview. That made me so happy, I took a shower and wore girl clothes and everything! I was absolutely thrilled to be half-way through the interview without crying, laughing inappropriately or barfing. In fact, I was so comfortable with my new found friends that I relaxed a smidgen and crossed my legs. Oh, yeah... I'm cool, calm and collected.
That's when I saw the big splotch of bright white bird shit on my black shoe. Smooth!
Oh well... it was only for a part time job, anyway. *sigh* I may not have come out smelling like a rose, but at least I didn't smell like dog shit. And that makes me happy.
Have a Happy Weekend!

And at least you didn't smell like a bum's armpit (private joke!)
JD! I'm going to try that scent for my next interview.
Okay...I gotta say it...you didn't smell like dog shit, you smelled like bird shit!
You know I love you and that was hilarious!!
Totally commiserating on the job hunt scene.
"That's when I saw the big splotch of bright white bird shit on my black shoe. Smooth!"
I laughed hard, thank you XD
Have a lovely weekend in the country. Just stay out of the bird's line of fire.
At least it didn't land in your hair.
Shit happens! haha! I am glad that a person who got shit on can be that happy!
I bet you got this job!! I would definitely hire you.
The ladybugs are probably Asian ladybugs... they breed like rabbits. And they smell when you smash them.
If you did not know this...
Stacy, Otin and I have issues with the commenter widget....
We like to be on top ;-)
LMAO!!!
I don't know
why Hit 40
didn't mention me
but actually
I rather prefer
to be on top
There. Do you think that did it?
Now I need to go spam Hit40
And at least the bird shit wasn't on your shoulder or something
Have a great weekend!!!
I went to an interview once with dried toothpaste froth on my cheek. A lot of it. I didn't get the job, but I hope you do!
Good point -- bird poop is pretty odorless. The interviewer probably didn't even notice.
Good luck!
thankfully it wasnt in your coiffure! :)
Hey Cat Lady I have a great idea for getting yourself a job. Set up a post called "Why You Should Employ Me", get us, your loyal and loving bloggers to post really cool stuff about you. At your job interview, tell them to check out your blog post for additional references. What potential employer wouldn't hire you on the spot. Innovative, creative, computer skilled, works well with people, good communicator....oooh and I promise I will behave on the comments (just on that post).
A friend of mine, years ago was umming and ahhing about going for a creative position in an upmarket department store. She had absoultely no experience in the area what so ever and it was a highly sort after position. She didn't think there was any point applying but really, really wanted it. Sick of her whinging about it I said here's what you do....buy a simply but classy box, ribbon and tissue paper. Fill the box with tissue paper, place your resume in it, tie it up with a nice bow and get a male friend (dressed in suit) to PERSONALLY deliver it. Hell, she had nothing to lose!
Guess what? She got the friggin job because they were blown away with her creativeness! Guess what? She quit a few days later because she didn't think she was worthy of it ! Friggin fool. Blahahaha true story!
Sorry about the crap, but I'm distracted right now.

12 ladybugs at the ladybug picnic!
Thanks for that earworm!
(runs away screaming)
Oh, boy. I can relate. Job hunting has become a game with me. How many resumes can I submit this week without a word of acknowledgment? *sigh*
I'm proud for you. At least you got beyond the front door - bird shit and all!
Enjoy your time in the country.
Good luck with the job hunt. Jsut enjoy whatever outdoor time you can before you become a member of the workforce because then it's all downhill...LOL!
I have had a few phone interviews with recruiters but no face to face ones. I hope we all find jobs and SOON! Can you imagine if you had your dress tucked into your pantyhose? That makes birdshit pale in comparison.
Lee: There are a lot of things that could smell worse than bird shit! Love you back!
Stephanie: I think the number of bloggers has gone up with the recession... we have to have something to do while we're unemployed!
Randomization: Glad I made you laugh... hard!
Jayne: I'm enjoying the country... just have to remember to get to the chickens before nightfall. Otherwise they're up in the rafters of the coop and I risk chicken shit bombs.
Peach Tart: Yeah, bird shit in my hair would have definitely been worse!
Otin: Shit definitely happens! Especially to me! As long as I keep laughing about it, I figure I'll be okay.
Hit 40: Thanks for the lady bug tip! Now I'll know not to smash lady bugs on my shoes before interviews! I don't think Eau de lady bug would make me more alluring to prospective employers.
Hit 40: Trying to get back on top with the commenter log? RXBambi is kicking ass...
RXBambi: It's a fight to the finish between you and Hit 40 this week! Fight! Fight! Hahahaha!
RXBambi: I shall be sure to brush off my shoulders before the next interview!
Indigo: Maybe I should try the dried toothpaste froth for my next interview.
Jeanne: Thanks! I'm sure no one could have possibly noticed!
Jenny Mac: I could have pretended it was just my highlights!
frigginloon: Great idea! If they still like me after all those crazy comments from my crazy blogger friends, I figure it would be an awesome place to work!
Quirkster: Ladybugs everywhere! No Zombies in sight yet, though.
Me-Me: Looking for work is the hardest job there is! Most definitely! Too bad we can't all band together and form our own blogging company! We could all wear red plaid shirts and carry axes over our shoulders. Oh, wait... that would be a logging company. Never mind.
Collette: Thanks for the good wishes. I'm trying to enjoy this "time off" as much as possible... hence the spate of blogging!
Ettarose: There are SO many ways I can make a fool of myself at interviews... I think I've tried them all! Dress in panties hose is a classic! Good luck to all of us... winter's coming on and I'll need $$$ to pay for the heat!
