So, here's what I came up with...
Top 10 New Year's Resolutions for a Cat Lady Without Cats:
1. Go to work on a regular basis (an improvement over 2009)
2. Put money IN to savings account instead of just taking money OUT. (see #1)
3. Dress for success... limit Pajama Day to weekends only.
4. Stop falling down stairs. Avoid Emergency Rooms... there ARE actually other ways to meet new people.
5. "Strive for 5"... that means 5 servings of vegetables per week, doesn't it? (They made it so much easier once they classified ketchup as a vegetable.)
6. Limit Dr Pepper intake... I think "Strive for 5" in this case means no more than 5 servings per day... seems doable.
7. No matter how cluttered things get, always keep a pathway cleared to the refrigerator.
8. Be kind to animals... to paraphrase Homer Simpson, "Hickory's the kind of dog you have to feed every day."
9. Avoid Death and Taxes and Gifts of Unwanted Kittens....
10. Find a reason to smile every day!*

What a great list! Thanks for the shout out!!
Oh, I don't know if I can limit Pajama Day to just the weekends. I wish you much luck with that. Perhaps if you can do it, I can do it.
You can link your post up over at NGIP - I just put up my resolutions along with the Linky widget for everyone to join in the fun.
Happy New Year!!
- Margaret
I think Avoiding death should be number one! :0)
lol. thanks for including me in the list...nice list...dr. pepper intake is god for you right...gotta be better han all those veggies...
happy new year!
This is the best list of resolutions I've ever seen!
I love number 4!
Go to work? What? Uh............
You outdid yourself with all those links. Thanks for mentioning me.
Here's to 1, 2, 4, 7, 9 and 10. In my case 7 should be substituted for "make sure there is a clear path to the phone, credit card and takeaway menu list".
Thank you for mentioning me. I sometimes feel iDifficult is the Sargasso Sea of the blog world.
Hee hee. Great list and mucho thanks for the shout-out!
I started to tremble when I read you were going to start limiting your Dr. Pepper intake.
Let's not go crazy now, k?
If you want to cut back on one can a day, I get it, but any more?
You're scaring me.
I'm stopping over from Nanny Goats/Margarets. LOVE your Resolutions-- Especially #6 and definitely #7.
Hope the new year is great for you!
Cheers
Limit pajama day to weekends? Man, you make it tough. Thanks for the shout out and happy 2010.
A great list of resolutions for sure. I think numbers 3 and 4 would be my best things to work on.
Leeuna
Who has time for work...wish I didn't have to but guess I'm glad I have a job!! I guess I need to get busy and write a list. That's for mentioning me...I need to learn how to do that!!!
I am so sorry I have been the rotten follower. You are feeling well I see. Thank you for stopping by. I promise to try and follow on a regular basis. Of course you do realize that I am full of crap and will give it my best shot.
PS. Tell Dr. Pepper I want some more ;)
You made me smile, so I'm jake with this list. Your list, while funny, is actually littered with actual grown-up, hard things to do. You thought you could slip that by us, what with the funny and all, but no, I caught you. Regular employment, deposits not withdrawals, DP limits? (Not DDP now, that'd be crazy talk.) Maybe you could have cut yourself a break and just vowed not to use the phrase "fo Shizzle" in 2010. Then we'd all win. Food for thought.
Gee, these seem like very attainable resolutions. Except for numbers 1,2 and 10, of course. I mean, come on Cat Lady, don't be crazy.
P.S. -- my captcha word: kingsoot. Funny.
Lee: You're Welcome!
NGIP: Fun idea, Margaret! Thanks for making me at least think about doing some of these things!
ED: Yeah, you probably have a good point there!
Brian: I think that vegetables are part of the 23 flavors... which makes it health food.
Connie: I think I've fallen down enough stairs to last me a lifetime!
Reffie: Work! ARGH! A necessary evil... good think I have fun while I'm there.
idifficult: Lucky for me, my phone is right next to the fridge!
Quirky: Yikes! Didn't mean to scare you! I'm giving myself two more servings besides the usual 10, 2 & 4 time schedule as recommended.
Joanna: Always good to see you! #6 & #7 are actually pretty high on the priority list.
Dufus: I'd make it every day, but they have this pesky dress code at work. Damn them!
Leeuna: Definitely important things to attend to.
Gayle: I know... I still can't get anyone to give me money for doing nothing.
Lyn: I'm happy to see you whenever you get the chance to stop by. Just keep on drinking the DP in between visits!
K a b l o o e y: I vow never to use the term "fo shizzle" again! But "grown up"? What does that mean? I've tried to embrace DDP, but it just never works... the taste is not the same.
Mike: I just threw those in to make people think I"m a responsible adult. kingsoot.... that's me, the king of soot!
I don't wear PJ's I just sleep in my regular clothes which means every day is pajama day or I am always dressed for success.
Thanks for the link and I always thought strive for five meant drinks...I can do that. Now if I could just get off the Diet Crack I'd get somewhere with my resolutions.
My captcha is Conal, it sounds kinda dirty.
LOL, loved these. But I can only "REALLY" commit to #10. And blogs like this one help!
The Resolute Old Silly
Jen: I actually wear whatever t-shirt I wore for the day to bed as well... just trade in comfy pajama bottoms for the jeans. (I only work at places where I can go casual.... probably why I'm not rich!) I'd doing so well on my drink rationing so far...
Resolute Old Silly: #10 is really the best. Laughing every day sure helps make up for a lot of evils!
I can never keep my resolutions because my bad loon just bitch slaps the good loon until I just give in. Vicious, vicious circle!
How about if you wear yoga pants, so much like PJs but are made to wear in public....
About the pathway, a way to keep one clean at all times is easy - watch Hoarders on A&E and you'll want to clean your house OR feel the urge to report yourself to authorities.
Thanks for the shoutout...I'm happy I can put a smile on someone's face. :-)
I guess I can be funny and uplifting, when I am not dismembering people in my stories! LOL!
I could use a lot of your resolutions myself, but they will never get done!
Happy New Year!
frigginloon: I never actually do resolutions either, because I know I'll never keep them! But NGIP was doing this and I thought it might be fun. (Yeah, if a friend told me to jump off a bridge, I'd probably be stupid enough to do it!)
Little Ms Blogger: Yeah, yoga pants! Gotta get me some of them there snazzy pants! I'm actually afraid to watch Hoarders... still waiting for someone to give them my name as a potential guest!
Otin: You are pretty funny when you're not dismembering people. But I love your stories so much! (Yeah, I'm into blood and guts and bizarre stuff!) Today's story was pretty awesome!
Not only will you find a reason to smile, but you make others smile and that's a gift. Good list, my friend. Thanks so much for your friendship and support this year.
Happy New Year!
Hugs, Jayne
You are awesome Cat Lady. Its a great list. Pajama Day? I think I will have that tomorrow!
And thank you for the mention especially amongst such great bloggers.
Happy New Year!!!
I think 'Strive for 5' is five servings of vegetables a DAY, but baby steps....I'm just trying to get to where those vegetables aren't perched on top of my Angus Deluxe.
I love this resolution thing, I've 'met' so many new folks. Don't worry, we'll all shamble across the finish line together. We may be arm in arm trying to keep longneck bottles out of each other's hair but we'll get there.
Oh, I wish I could get my act together and come up with a clever NY Resolution post. I got nothin'. And you'd think the person who does things so you don't have to could at least do a decent NY post.
But I am inspired by your list. Especially number 10.
Happy New Year!
I'm still working on living forever. So far, so good...
Well, my blog roll starts anew tomorrow. I'd be honored if you participate again in 2010. Leave a comment and you're on the blog roll! Thanks for visiting and commenting in 2009.
Jayne: So glad I found you! What a treat it is to read your blog! Hugs to you, too!
JennyMac: Happy New Year! Or, more appropriately... Happy Pajama Day! I'll be in mine all day tomorrow!
Shieldmaiden: I'm takin' baby steps all the way!
Thanks for stopping by.
JD: Do you realize how much time you've saved me this year? How you did it I'll never know. Can't wait to see what you're going to do for me in 2010! Happy New Year!
VE: Living forever is good! Especially so long as the Dr Pepper, beer and red wine don't run out! You're so full of fantastical nonsense... I just love it!
HAPPY FRIGGIN NEW YEAR CAT LADY. Here is hoping your house plays nice this year :)
Sorry, but I can't go along with limiting my Diet Dr Pepper, or my Diet Mountain Dew either.
They are both lifesavers to my weight control!
Fab resolutions, 2. & 10. will be in my list too.
Really need to stop myself buying all the shiny things... but I can't help it, there so pretty!
